Jaffa to Jerusalem

Our favorite custom tour for the savvy traveler

This two-day tour honors the ancient route that pilgrims once traveled in order to reach the holy city of Jerusalem. Throughout antiquity, Jaffa served as the port where ships arrived, where visitors first caught sight of the Holy Land, and where porters waited to escort travelers on the arduous journey uphill toward Jerusalem’s sacred wonders.

Today, we are happy to offer you luxurious transportation as we begin our journey in the historic port city of Jaffa, taking in the sights of this remarkable destination before heading east and rising in both elevation and holiness toward Jerusalem.

The second half of the day offers a number of wonderful sites that can accommodate the adventurous traveler, whether your interests lean toward Christian history, Jewish heritage, military history, or the culinary treasures of the region.

Perhaps you would enjoy a lunch stop in Abu Ghosh followed by a visit to the beautifully preserved Crusader Monastery of St. Mary.

You may prefer the charming neighborhood of Ein Karem, home to the Church of John the Baptist and the golden-domed Church of the Visitation.

Military enthusiasts often appreciate a visit to Latrun, including the fortress and Tank Memorial Museum honoring Israel’s fallen armored corps soldiers, including my father, Moshe Katz z”l.

Day Two is an all-inclusive Jerusalem extravaganza, taking in both the Old City and the New City. This has become our most popular tour for guests hoping to experience many of the sites, stories, flavors, and spiritual wonders that make this land so extraordinary.

We invite you to stroll the ancient streets of the Old City, witness priests giving mass within the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, bow your head at the Western Wall, and enjoy the breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Jerusalem’s iconic skyline.

The New City is home to the beloved Mahane Yehuda Market, where one of our favorite experiences is sharing a tasting tour with guests after a day spent walking, learning, reflecting, and exploring.

It is important to remember that modest dress is required when visiting many holy sites.

Tours can be adjusted to accommodate guest interests and travel preferences, with alternative route suggestions available.
