Jerusalem & Judean Desert

From the sacred city, to the desert mysteries

Day 1 — Holy Jerusalem

The Old City of Jerusalem has been a pilgrim’s destination for over three millennia and is surely a highlight for any visitor to Israel. For us, it is truly an honor to stroll amidst her holiness, and this passion is passed onto our guests as we take stock of the more important things in life that these walls and tales ask us to ponder.

Having a guide is therefore a must for such a place as this, exposing hidden secrets and gems that might otherwise be missed. We invite you to stroll the ancient streets of the Old City, witness priests giving mass within the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, bow your head at the Western Wall, and enjoy the breathtaking lookouts over Jerusalem’s skyline. These are just a few of the gifts that Jerusalem bestows onto its visitors.

Day 2 — Judean Desert

Our second day together brings us from Jerusalem down into the lowest place on the face of the Earth, the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley. Our first stop takes us to the mighty mountain fortress of Masada, where we ascend by cable car to this Herodian fortified ruin and UNESCO World Heritage Site of mystery and history.

This is one of our favorite places to travel, and the powerful story, epic views, and presence of a guide by your side make for a tremendous travel experience to be enjoyed by all.

We continue our adventure to the Dead Sea for a float and mud bath in a sea like no other. Welcome to the saltiest body of water on the planet. We typically enjoy the public beaches at Ein Bokek, which provide access to this natural phenomenon and a comfortable way to take a dip, get wonderfully muddy, and enjoy this world-class site.

Guests who wish to enjoy the more luxurious hotel spas, available for additional fees, are also able to do so and enjoy added comforts such as lockers, showers, and swimming pools. After lunch, we head north for a desert stroll at the wonderful Ein Gedi spring, one of Israel’s most celebrated hikes and a remarkable reminder of the power of water flowing through the driest and lowest places on Earth. And yes, the camel ride is included as well.
